What is SunLine Refueled?
The world is continually changing, and therefore, so must the definition of transit.
The future of transportation looks different. This is due to new trends and alternatives – from rideshare options to modified transit solutions including more direct and express service lines. Transit agencies need to be flexible to meet the emerging mobility needs of riders today.
So, what is SunLine doing to address the evolution of transit?
It's time for SunLine's network to be ...

Components to SunLine Refueled
There are 4 different components to SunLine Refueled, including:

10 Commuter Link
SunLine looked at opportunities for more regional connections for Coachella Valley residents and created a new commuter link route.
The 10 Commuter Link will travel to and from San Bernardino with enhanced options to connect to a number of key destinations in Southern California via transfers at a major transit hub.

SunRide
Perhaps the most innovative new transportation service coming to SunLine is SunRide – which is a rideshare service available in 4 Coachella Valley zones to connect riders to the fixed route network.
Riders use this service with a smartphone app, which will call for a SunRide vehicle to pick them up at destination within the designated zones and/or bus stops.

Consolidated Fixed Route Network
The Agency is proposing to consolidate SunLine’s 15 existing routes into 9 routes. This restructure of the network allows SunLine to focus resources on the system’s most productive bus corridors and provide customers with more “one-seat rides.”
This means fewer transfers and a more comfortable and leisurely ride for customers.

1X
This new route will provide more rapid service with limited stops along the existing Route 111.
Route 1X will operate along Highway 111 originating in Palm Springs and ending in Indio – reducing travel times for customers riding long distances throughout the SunLine system.
SunLine has always been on the cutting edge of transit trends, and we look forward to delivering innovative new transportation alternatives to the community through the SunLine Refueled initiative.
